Overview:

Welcome to the JAMC Memorial College Jumpstart Scholarship. This scholarship was established to honor the life of J. Ashley Mitchell-Carter and to continue her legacy of excellence, generosity, and service. The JAMC Scholarship is an annual, merit based competition, which focuses on rewarding ambitious, creative, and goal-oriented individuals. This is a one-time award of $1,250. All incoming college freshmen attending an accredited Louisiana College or University are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply:

Applicants may apply by submitting an original video clip (at least 90-seconds) telling us about yourself, your inspirations, your motivations, and your passion. Your submission must be received by no later than August 5, 2022. There are two ways to submit your video:

1.      Upload your video via Instagram and use the hashtag #pm_problemsolved. Make sure to Direct Message us your name and contact information, including the name of the school that you will be attending.

OR

2.      You can send your video directly to us via email at info@pearsonmitchell.com. Be sure to include your name and contact information, including the name of the school that you will be attending in the body of the email. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • High School GPA (minimum 2.5)

  • Applicant must be an incoming freshman at an accredited Louisiana College or University

  • Winners will be selected based on the content of their video submission, including creativity, clarity, and how well it addresses the topic.

  • Employees of Pearson & Mitchell and/or and donor to the Scholarship fund and their immediate relatives are not eligible.

Additional Information:

  • The check for the scholarship will be sent directly to your college or university.

  • Pearson & Mitchell reserves the right to verify all information, including, GPA, the date of high school graduation, and school enrollment status.
